A Multitude of Transitions in her own life has prepared Gloria Smith for her career in real estate with an emphasis as a Relocation specialist.
"I've lived the real estate scenario," Gloria says of her adventures as a child growing up on dairy farms and beef ranches; and as an adult moving east and west across the country more than once as her husband's coaching career progressed. "California, Idaho, Washington, Wyoming, Florida and Oregon have been my homes. I've lived in rural towns and large cities, and I am aware of the stress and emotions involved in cross-town or cross-country moves."
One memorable scenario for Gloria was dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew when they lived in Florida. "We had to relocate from our destroyed home to several temporary homes that would enable me to continue working and allow the kids to continue to attend the same schools. We basically camped out for 8 months while our home was rebuilt and belongings replaced."
Gloria has been a Northwest Realtor since 1981 and has her Broker's license, GRI, ABR and recently elected District VP for CRS. Her enthusiasm for her job is evident. "I enjoy what I do" she says, "and I enjoy meeting different people from all aspects of life."
Rural Beginnings -After graduation, Gloria and Gregg moved to Beaverton, Oregon for teaching and coaching positions. But Idaho had captured their hearts, and after four years, they returned and bought a 180-acre cattle and beef ranch in Buhl. Gloria coached and taught physical education, and while raising three children, also obtained her real estate license.
Several moves back and forth across the country followed as the children were growing up. During these years, Gloria either involved herself in teaching and coaching sports, studying and receiving her Master of Science Degree, or selling real estate. "I've accumulated a lot of knowledge about real estate," Gloria states. "I like being busy and am very self-motivated. The needs of my clients are top priority." I am now licensed in both Oregon & Arizona!
