Sunriver is located in the heart of Central Oregon surrounded by Deschutes National Forest and bordered by almost nine miles of the Deschutes River.  At an elevation of 4,200 and almost 300 days of sunshine this area provides year round recreation for everyone of all ages.  The self contained community of Sunriver is a planned community consisting of interrelated villages containing single  family homes as well as condos and townhomes Sunriver encompasses 3,300 acres with 4200 homesites.  Within Sunriver you can tour the community on one of the more than 30 miles of paved bike paths or try one of the 31 outdoor tennis courts.  There is also horseback riding, fishing, canoeing and rafting.

The Sunriver Village Mall provides unique shops and restrauants and rental equipment for all your sporting needs.  There are also 2 swimming pools and The Meadows and Woodlands Golf courses.  Sage Springs Spa and Mavericks Health Center also provide athletic membership opportunities.

Nearby popuplar attractions include fun and activities for the entire family summer, or winter.  A short drive from Sunriver will allow you to explore Cascade Lakes Highway with beautiful crystal clear lakes, streams and rivers with some of the Northwest's best fly and rod fishing and campgrounds.  Sunriver is surrounded by natural volcanic wonders found over 6,000 years ago, such as Lava Butte and Newberry National Monument.  There are also beautiful parks, the High Desert Museum and of course, Mt. Bachelor, one of the nation's leading ski areas.  Mt. Bachelor provides cross country skiing in the woods and excellent downhill skiing or snowboarding.  Mt. Bachelor has a diverse array of slopes for all skill level skiers and is just 18 miles west of Sunriver.

Sunriver has it's very own Airport.  A 5,500 foot paved and lighted airstrip which is one of the longest private airstrips in the West.  It accommodadtes private planes and provides charter flights.  Sunriver also has a post office, a state liquor store, restaurants, Three Rivers K-8 school, churches and the Sunriver Lodge.

Wildlife abounds as a fisherman's paradise the Sunriver area also offers haven to migratory birds, deer, elk, otters, nesting swans, ducks, osprey and eagles.  Sunriver remains an unenclosed sanctuary where wildlife is undisturbed and dwells in an atmosphere intended only to be captured by the lens of a photographer.
